A high Product Hunt ranking does not automatically mean a product is the best in its category. Launch performance can be influenced by an existing audience, launch preparation, timing, community activity, and how effectively the maker brings people to the page.

There is also a lot to browse. AI tools in particular appear frequently, so genuinely different products can sit beside minor variations on ideas you have already seen.

Product Hunt's own reviews show some recurring criticism around navigation, search, support, moderation, and the transparency of voting and ranking. Users also note that Product Hunt can be stronger for launch visibility and validation than for producing sustained customer acquisition afterward.

That is a useful expectation to set. Product Hunt can give a launch a concentrated burst of attention, but it does not replace ongoing marketing, customer support, or product development.
